The January 2006 article on PicoList contains an important factual error. 'Trade' and 'advertising' are in fact permitted in PicoList postings, in general, although some forms of trade - firearms, drugs, etc. - are banned. See the terms and conditions for details.

Statements in the article suggest that PicoList and email notification generally is better than postering, and that email could provide a way to reduce the number of posters. In fact, our attitude is that email will always be complementary to other forms of media, including postering.
